Any advice?

A guy in Logan told us to check out the Hocking river at whites mill in Athens. Anyone familiar with this spot that can give tips on lures/bait. The river is high and I was thinking of going to the other side where the bank isn’t so steep.

If you can find a current break behind some sort rock, point, outside bend, drift your bait through there or fish tightline on bottom from above it. Generally the fish will be in those current breaks waiting on baitfish to slide in there

There’s a small grassy island about 100 yards downstream from the broken dam. May give that a try...current is good on both sides of that island.

Chubs if u can find them at a bait shop, Not real familar with hocking river... but fished it once for shovel heads, theres some big ones in there .we fished a big eddie. If cant find one of those like Redhunter said.. find a curent break and they'll be fish there

Trade someone your phone for a tackle box and enjoy!
And DONT go in the damn river when it's high like that or put a boat in above the damn dam damnit. You'd think it's common sense but every year someone drowns right around there.
