Is she asking for the camera proof that its runnin with yotes?

If I have it, but just pics in general. She had no reservations about us killing it after talking to me some. I've made a living on dealing with people and trusting my guy and her fascination came off as genuine, so I'm not too worried about it. I have little doubt that this is a coyote first and foremost, so I'll shoot it given the chance.

That "fascination" would worry me.

Absolutely! The new Ohio "Companion Animal law she vaguely referenced is a nightmare. The law is so poorly written that if someone so much as forgets to water their dog its a felony. You would have to prove it ran with coyotes, some libtard woukd only need to say it was their. Pet and bam, felony charges. Not worth the risk just to satisfy her "curiosity". I don't violate game laws, but that doesn't mean i'm going to make the game warden my hunting buddy either. Lol.

Shoot em. I know I think different than alot of people because my family ran coon dogs and if they we're having troubles with them they wouldn't come back. Same with rabbit dogs now this was along time ago but that's just what they did. If ends up being a pet then they should of not let it run the neighborhood for who knows how long , but they wouldn't see it like that. I say it's a yote tho we had one that was red like a fox with a black face a few years ago never could get him close enough.

So I emailed the DNR yesterday as I was curious to see what their response would be to a coydog since they don't have the best track record of acknowledging "out of the box" species here in Ohio. Surprisingly, I got a quick response and the person responding said everyone in the office agreed that it looks like a hybrid, but that my county dog warden would be the one to answer any specific questions. I emailed our dog warden this morning and she asked I call her, which I did. According to her, if it was running with dogs, it would be considered a "companion animal" and would be treated as such under the law. However since we've seen it with other coyotes, she agrees it's simply a coyote with domestic canine genetics and said I/we were free to treat it as a coyote. She asked that I keep sending her pics as I got them and if we kill it, she wants to check it out as she's "fascinated" by it now.
Anyone else hear the jaws music playing?

HAHA. Gut, not guy. She said she'd never seen this before locally, only had heard about it previously. As a dog person, I'm sure it truly does spark her interest, especially if it were to become a trend. IMO, something like this needs to be taken out of the gene pool, otherwise is encourages coyotes that are less afraid of humans due to the canine genetics.

Shoot it, get it mounted, then sometime in the future maybe you will meet one of your neighbors and they might say "hey, I always wondered why Fido never came home!'. :D

So a local guy I know has killed 99 coyotes since 1/1/19. I've been messaging him about hunting our place since I'm never out there and no where near as good as he is. I sent him the pic from the OP and said if he killed it, I'd take the hide if he didn't want it. He sends me this and says "too late" 😂

Shot it in January a mile south of where the pic was taken. He and the taxi agreed it was part dog too. He's actually picking it up tomorrow. Crazy bit of coincidence!
