We can take credit but we probably had minimal effect. The CEO backing Trump was probably a bigger issue. The Left follows through.

I started to post this the other day. This is not ALL because of hunters. Liberals who wear US outnumber hunters who wear it and support of Trump did not help on that front. Consider too market saturation and the rise in strong e-commerce driven brands that offer quality clothing for much less. No doubt backlash from hunters hurt, but it's not the only reason for the decline.

Piss off both customer bases. Great business plan.

Correct. Plus UA is still actually gaining market share, just at lower margins than investors favor. That is a much bigger contributing factor to the stock value declining than hunters "boycotting" UA. If anything now is the time to buy UA stock. The brand is not going anywhere and the business will correct moving forward. Will the stock ever skyrocket to surpass its historic highs? Doubtful. But it will be a solid investment as the brand grows.

I don't think they have the saying power of brands like Nike and Adidas. A very large portion of their market is kids that want it to be cool. The thing about kids is they jump feom one thing to the next. It used to be all about Abercrombie, then it was Hollister, American eagle, and so on. If you look at each of these brands they enjoyed masssive profitability in their hayday, now they cant close stores fast enough to stay ahead of the red. Kids just don't care about UA like they used to. Now they're all abut North Face and Sperry. I don't see UA going away, but they haven't even neared the bottom yet. Look for them in you local Wal-Mart and discount fashion stores soon enough. While hunters can't claim sole responsibility for their drop, it undoubtedly played a role in what has been a series of very poor PR and marketing decisions plaguing UA.

Hasn't UA done this same thing in the past? Dropped support of hunters they sponsored?

I've always hated them. I don't own one shred of their crap! Who puts neon colors on hunting camo? WTF!!

Their business decisions technically don't affect me because I'm not one of their customers and never would be. However, Joe made the best point of all. If they just made their shit and chose not to support any hunters, they'd probably be fine. However, by pulling this shit they lose support of a segment of their own consumer base. Doesn't matter what %, it's just stupid.

Same feelings or are some of you sporting UA gear for the summer? I will continue to wear the items I own, but have not bought anything new for myself since. Kids and wife don't see my views, but that's their choice.

I received a pair of knee high socks for Christmas that are comfy as fugg. I also have a hat that I bought a few years ago and don't wear anymore. I'll never buy anything else from them.

Haven't bought anything of theirs, won't buy anything of theirs, and actually exchanged for a different brand a few infant items that were gifted to us.

Last August when this happened Under Armour stock was at $41 per share today it is a little over $20. I am sure there are other factors at play besides just this however this did them no favors and today the company valuation is half of what it was
