Ever heard of "the round table"? It's a table that is at the local diner. It's a table that the local farmers meet around every morning to drink coffee and tell lies. Find the diner with the flatbed trucks...

This guy has been all over craigslist for months, Ohio is now officially as shady as southern state leases. Guys in NC were leasing land that they didnt own or lease. Leasing the sublease of the sublease and flat out just lying and leasing land they had absolutely nothing to do with.

How do people get away with that? Pick land that people from out of state own?

Literally met, spoke and subleased my lease to a guy that was scammed (was leased land the leaser did not own or lease). The guy found a add in a local paper the supposed land owner double lease property he did not own and basically got away with it because he was sorry and it isn't worth the time in court. The 2 hunters that leased ran into each other first day of gun season both having paper work (arguing with each other, finally realized what happend), when trying to confront or get a hold of the land owner it was found out that he did not actually own the property, but owned a few small fields in the surrounding area. I believe it was some where around $1k each paid. The scammer hadI a good understanding of the local activity of the land (owning some field close or connecting) and probably knew it didnt have any active hunters for a few years. I believe the 1 hunter continued to hunt the land even after digging around (just played dumbed if something would come of it) and the guy I subleased to was to scared and walked away.

Just to be clear only reason I subleased was I moving back to Ohio and only charged half of what I paid-I'm not that cut throat.

Trophy Hunt Club Ohio is a total waste of time and effort. I had talked with Andy Park, and discussed a land lease, I sent a bank money order, wanted the back up in case something went wrong, for the deposit, remainder due by June 1st. I had sent the remainder of the money, and kept asking him about the lease and contract, and he kept saying they were working on them. In may I get a call from him saying that he is having a problem with the land owner, over several of the properties he get from the guy, and that they aren't available ( that property is still on his site and showing as lease as well as the other properties with this person listed as owner) and send me some other listings. I chose one, it was more acreage, so I sent money to make up the difference. I keep bugging him about lease and contract, he says they will be in the mail by June first, I call him on June 8 and ask if they have been put in the mail, he told me it has been mailed out. On Saturday June 10, I get an envelope from him with a check refunding all of my money. I leave a nasty voice mail on his phone, he calls and leaves a voicemail on my phone talking about having problems with the landowner, etc etc.

Well at least he was honest enough to give you a refund. So I gather it wasn't a scam.

IMO, I also agree with Frank. There are so many scammers out there that have taken customers money or screwed them one way or other that I'd be very content getting back all my money in a very timely fashion giving you time to look elsewhere on top of that. Sorry to hear it fell through for you but it coulda been much worse.

Good luck in your search!
