Quick update. Made it out yesterday. Saw a coyote at first light and then had to deal with some trespassers.

Once they were gone seen 2 does in the thick stuff.

Went and hit up the public land.
A couple of guys were pushing a wood lot just above where I had setup and happened to push a buck out that had me on my toes. Shot him for 150 turns out the distance was 147. Dropped in his tracks.
Gathered up my stuff and made my way down to him To my surprise the guys who bumped the deer were already there and gutting him, 4 guys that is.
Confronted them and ask them why they were taking my deer. Never got a good answer.
At that point what was I to do as I was alone, 2 miles from the truck and 4 dudes I don't know are dragging my deer off? Pretty bummed at that point I walk back to the truck.

When I get to the parking lot an old man asks for help getting one out.
That deer was a half mile in some of the thickest nastiest stuff I've ever been in but we got him out.

Was not the greatest day that I have ever had, but it sure beat being at work.
And I was able to see a few deer.

Be sure to use your dad's truck when you decide to kill a deer. If it goes bad, and you get caught, you will still have your truck. Same with the gun...use Dean's. He's got plenty to spare. Giving one up to the court will be no biggie.

Sorry to hear that.. Had to be a bad situation...I've lost my cool with trespassers but never had to deal with 4 guys with guns stealing my deer.

Damn Townzen!!!! So sorry to hear this!!! Hope those 4 thieving SOB's get a visit by bad karma someday! Good for you in helping out another hunter!

IMO, the other hunter should have a plan if he's hunting alone in thick nasty stuff in case he does kill something other than ask another hunter to take away from his hunting time to assist but good for you anyways!

Maybe it was the day the old hunter realized he was old...

Damn now I think I've heard it all. What a season you've had already.

I know. It is almost starting to sound like a bad fairy tale. Sometimes that is the way the ball rolls. I am sure it will straighten out sooner than later.
Going to hit it this weekend and hope for a doe if a shooter rolls through I wont complain either.

That far back, I believe shit would have got real in a hurry. Maybe not with 4 guys, but I'd have been livid. Sorry you have to deal with that man. Total BS.

Bummer man! That just flat out sucks!

Hard to understand why people act this way.... So much for being an honest, fair guy enjoying hunting and being happy for another hunter.
