So how long til the Farm Bureau declares war on Coon instead of deer? Sure as hell wouldn't hurt to open them up like coyote and groundhog.
Not until the coons start causing damage to vehicles. Farm bureau is a puppet of nationwide.

Picked my first hungarian wax peppers on Father's Day and finally got around to canning some hot pepper mustard today. This batch is fiery hot thanks to leaving the seeds in half the peppers, including the 2 jalapeños, then adding a tablespoon of my super chili dust I made from dehydrated super chilis I grew. It'll make your nose run! 20170626_202603.jpg

We went in to winter with 4 hens, 2 australorps and 2 Rhode island reds, and they made it through with no issues. My SIL works at TSC, so she snagged us some chicks (more like rescued the remaining ones from last year) and raised them for us since I wasn't raising chicks again this winter. Went and picked them up today. Got 4 more aussies and a barred rock. Cleaned out the coop and added a couple nesting boxes. This will be a nice boost to our egg production.

Annual freezer clean out today after bringing home our half a hog yesterday. Ended up throwing out a few items and thawed out several for meals this week, a long with lots of miscellaneous deer parts (hearts, livers, tongues) for dog food. Defrosted the freezer, cleaned it, then repacked it. Other than my wife's frozen booze, we're responsible for everything in in here. We either grew it, made it, harvested it and/or butchered it. Pretty fulfilling to open it up and see this.

Finally got some yard work done out front of my house. Here is a before and after pictures . One was When I first moved in and other one is now. Been living at that house for 5 years. Within last 5 years, I had taken out a couple of bushes, added new plants for my mom, yesterday I decided too take out the little tree and a bush behind the little tree. It looks much better. It looks more welcoming. I still got little more work too do.... add mulch and such. Will be getting a new tree for my mom on mothers day.
