We have several that got broke off during the rut, I look at it this way, He won the battle this year and he will only get better to chase next year.
If he survives you;ll be more excited when you get pics of him next year.
Now you have a reason to walk the woods and learn more about the terain and how they travel while you;re shed hunting.

I look at it as a blessing in disguise though Clay. It's possibly another year under his belt,you might find his sheds and it beats shooting him then having his antlers pop off on the fall or drag out.

If I find a shed this weekend and then see him, I will shoot him and put that bad boy back on.

Same thing is happening here in PA. Flintlock season is in until the 14th (also the end of our deer season). I'm cutting out of work early and hitting it tonight and maybe tomorrow morning.
