Thinking about moving to Ohio, what part has some of the best hunting?

yes its not far from heath at all, im guessing that thats a good area then? The land owner showed me a shed he claims he found under his feeder that is the biggest antler i have ever held in my hand and had all kinds of crazy points. did not seem like he was a bullshitter but who knows, it definitly made me want to go there more.

Athens county is fantastic. If I could I'd buy land there and make sure my kids went to Athens or Alexander. Both seem to be very respectable schools.

I think Athens used to be open enrollment. So that could be taken into consideration as well

Licking place is still a bid war so Im going to go check the one in Athens out early next week, im not not to crazy about the highway being right through it but its worth checking out.

Athens is great cause you can be out in the sticks but still close to Athens, Ohio university, fairly close to Columbus, Parkersburg, etc. if that farm don't work, I hope others in area will catch your attention.

I've enjoyed following your journey. Keep at it.

Or you could also head about 10 minutes south of Athens into Meigs County. Cheaper land and WAY cheaper property taxes.

well they came back with a counter offer and i accepted so it looks like i am going to be a Licking county Ohio resident in a couple months. im very excited and i know 100 acres isnt much land but i am hopeful that if i plant some food plots and make some thicket that i never go into that i can get some nice deer on my land. now that i know where im going who all on here is going to live near me? got any pics of local deer i could look at? and does anyone on here get into looking for indian artifacts, because thats another one of my hobbys.
