Whats the rules on shooting one if you encounter one in the wild? this morning while turkey hunting, we came across a male feeding in one of the fields. Talked to some neighbors and they said they've been seeing him a few times. I want to eat him :smiley_bril:

You should fell pretty happy to have seen one. You don't see many around anymore. I seen one the other day by my house that got hit by a car. I went a mile down the road before I decided to turn around to go cur the tail off...he was already gone! Someone else had grabbed him is my guess, or he was just knocked out.

Back in the 1950's up in Putnam County I would see flocks of 100 or more when the snow covered the ground. Then fall plowing started to become poplar and DDT spraying started. That was the death toll of the pheasant and quail.

We had good populations here in NE Ohio all thru the 70's until 77-78 when we were hammered with a ton of snow.... Seems the numbers fell off drastically after that....
