Everything was going great this afternoon, feeder was working fine, does were coming in early, snow made visibility great. The best buck I have seen all season comes in within 50 yds. So I shoot right over his back from my tree stand. Yuck!!!?$&$

No dead Deerz today. But I did kill 2 yotes today. First one I blew the guts out at 75 yards on the run, but it made it a couple hundred yards to the next section. I doubt it went much further. This girl came on a leisurely run at 50 yards and I pounded her right behind the shoulder. She went about 12 inches straight to the ground. Didnt mess up the hide at all, so my nephew is gonna tan the hide for me

Did you make it out?

I was out in the back yard over the corn pile this morning. Didn't even see a squirrel! Pulled the card from the cam, I'll make a plan from this. The shelter from the wind and rain seemed like a good idea, but it didn't pan out. Laptop is charging...

Anyone have any idea how far a 250 grain bullet will drift in this kind of wind? Thinking shots need to be under 100 yards for sure. Hell, might even just keep my vacation day and go to work this evening.

I decided to punt today. Didn't really feel good about shooting in this weather. Staying home with the kids, and I've got a nasty little cold to boot. Looking forward to popping up the ground blind, dumping some corn, and trying to catch a buck deerz with my new xbow before the end of season. Good luck to anybody going out today

I've lost a couple good sized branches already...not sure I'm "needing" the meat just yet. Might sit this one out.

Dave you saw one little section at my place so you know I don't hunt in the wind lol. I think I took you down a lane that we had to go under a couple blow downs to get to your stand
