So there seems to be a shortage of kids medicines. I have a good bit but thought I would share in the event someone has trouble finding any.

Children's ibuprofen is a suspended solution of 100mg ibuprofen per 5ml of solution. It's the same ibuprofen as adult ibuprofen just suspended in somewhat sugary flavored syrup.

You can use adult ibuprofen tablets dissolved as long as you follow the dosage recommendations for kids off the children's bottle. Take a kids' medicine cup and put 10ml of hot tap water in it. Put one 200mg adult tablet in the cup and let it dissolve. (5 min). Stir to further dissolve. This will create the same Mg per ML rate as children's liquid ibuprofen. 100mg per 5 ml) From there you can adjust the solution volume as required. My oldest requires 10ml, (200mg) my youngest 7.5ml (150mg) for my youngest I just stir the solution and pour off 2.5ml in the sink before it can settle as it will not dissolve 100℅

Mix with a few ounces of orange juice to mask the bitterness.

Store-brand children's ibuprofen is about $9 for twelve 10ml doses. A bottle of 100 adult tables is about $1.98. So 100 10ml doses for 2 bucks.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol)

Walmart has an equate brand acetaminophen that is 325mg. Children's Tylenol suspended solution is 160mg per 5ml. So 10ml is 320mg, which is 5mg off. Not exact but close enough. Most parents make a bigger dosing error than that just trying to fill the little cup to the right ML line. Make sure it's the 325mg as the most common in everyone's home is 500mg tablets. You can use 500mg tablets but the math gets harder to finish the right dose as it becomes 250mg per 5ml instead of 162.5mg.

Process is the same as before. Dissolve one 325mg tablet in 10ml of hot water. That gives you 162.5mg per 5ml. Administer per the recommended dosage of children Tylenol.
