Have a friend that is going out and he never has the opportunity to get up there. Anyway he is going out in the AM and I'd like to get him some "direction".

Any advice for tomorrow?

Going to be a little rough in the morning. Winds been ENE for the last two days. If he can get out we always did great off of locast point in 13 foot of water using purple haired jigs.

I'll second those ugly purple things...lol. For some reason they catch fish this time of year!

Launch out of Turtle Creek or Wild Wings. Soon as you leave the cut, make a right. There will be a bunch of boats out there. 10-12 foot of water has been the norm. The NE wind blowing has made the fishing tough. I don't expect tomorrow to be much better.

Exactly what I heard from a Skipper up there. He can be FOS sometimes so I wanted a second opinion ;)

We've always done well heading west out of Meinke's almost to the mouth of the maumee. purple hairs is all we ever use...no need to go more than a mile north of the shore right now...echo 10-13 feet of water.

Seen guys do well casting them things too, we always just drop over edge and let the boat do the work.

Happy fishing.

A good drift is key. A 1-2 foot chop is about perfect with a drift sock thrown out. A fishing rod in each hand... Just pop it off the the bottom and let it fall. I usually don't mess around with minnows but some folks swear by them. You just have to drift until you find an active pod. Once you do, just keep looping back over top of them.

Pretty rough out there this morning but we got em. Purple, black, chartreuse, and orange were the colors of choice.
