Honestly, I don't like those at all. I seen them on an 80's Ford pickup a couple of weeks ago. I thought they looked like someone spray painted them, I had no idea it was a production.

I'm waiting for someone to put a modern twist on the old Turbines! I think those would look pretty sweet on older rigs with some sprucing up.

Takes that...add some bolts to look like bead-locks...some shine to catch the eye and maybe some black. That'd be one nice looking rim for someone building an older rig from that era.

Interesting. I had a set of these in all polish on a 93 Chevy 2500 in maroon. They looked great. I wanted an older look, but thought the black was a happy medium. Would clean up easier too. Good news? I have plenty of time to get to the wheel/tire portion of this build. Found a used fiberglass tub in Michigan. 3.5hr drive each way but at $1200. . .I will easily have savings. I will have over $1200 in repair panels before I cut them out and weld them in. Now to find time to head north and see if the tub is as described.

Phil, don't change your mind just because of my opinion. You might love them! Everyone likes the Mickey Thompson Outlaw wheel. Been popular for decades.

Right on. Only matters to me. I am the one that will have to live with them and like them. As stated, I have plenty of things to do in front of the wheel/tire combo. Who knows? May have a used tire/wheel combo show up that I can't pass up.

I'm ate up. When I get my head into something it consumes me. So the plans were to drive 3.5hrs to look at a fiberglass tub tomorrow. Then I kept scrolling the internet looking for other options. End up finding another Jeep which is already finished. Now I'm telling my wife "Hey honey, I'm thinking I'm gonna go look at a Jeep in city xyz." She is looking at me like there is a third arm growing out of my forehead and says "You just bought a Jeep? I thought you were going to look at some Jeep tub thing tomorrow?" Well. . . Yeah. I am. lmao

Long story short, I'm not sure what I am doing now. I may end up with 2 Jeeps. I may sell the first one I bought and just enjoy the second one. I dunno but I can guaran-dang-tee you my bank account (as well as my wife) are giving me the stank eye right now.

Here are some pics. I think Giles will approve. How ironic is it the wheels it has? lmao

Well done Phill!!!
What is the make on the seat covers?

I haven't bought this one yet. Sure is tempting though. All the work has been done. I bought the first one cheap enough I should be able to make about $400-600 so that would help with the purchase of the second one. He said he found the seat covers at Walmart. lol

GO drink another beer. It isn't a done deal yet. I don't like the idea of a v8 in there. Too much for them..BUT wait! This one already has Dana 44s front and rear. Lol

I gotta go back and read this thread.

'Someday' I'd like to have a jeep for a romping around hunting mobile.

My one buddy was telling me about a samurai he had that served the purpose well.

It'd be awesome not to have to tow a four wheeler; but instead to have a vehicle with similar capabilities.

Here is my honest feeling: I will likely buy the second one I pictured. I will likely put the new brake line kit on the first one I bought and list it for sale. I believe I can make a little on each of these. I honestly believe I will end up with a CJ7 before it is all over. It is very likely I will struggle getting in and out of the CJ5 with the S doors.

I like the yellow one Phil. Geoffrey wants to drive it too! :smiley_coolpeace:
They are both yellow! I hope you were just making a joke. If not, call a friend, go to the hospital and get your stomach pumped. I think Joy may have laced some drugs in with your nightly dose of gummy weiners. Lol

C'Mon Phil! Couple burn outs and a wheelie never hurt anyone.... You know you done it too!

Well. . . .that happened. I gotta admit, the 302 with headers into side pipes is bitchin'! Steering is loose but he told me that before I went to look at it. Tires are brand spanking new. Mild cam lopes nicely. Drives out nice other than the sloppy steering. Roll bar has been amended. It is more like a full roll cage now. Pretty cool. I will do some boxing of the frame as preventive precaution. There he been some patches. I'll trust my own repairs over someone elses. Overall, I truly cannot complain for what I paid. And yes Giles, it followed me home.

Here is the crazy part. Drive 1.5hrs to meet the guy at McDonald's in Indiana. Pulling into the McD I have a van try to load themselves onto my trailer. Fortunately I am only out a side marker light. I think they left me more paint on the trailer from their van than they took off the trailer. Here is what they looked like.
