I'm East bound and down and I hear there's a big buck on the ground!

Congrats Rick, that's a dandy. For years I've always shot whatever I could- a lot of 6 pts, and does. I resolved this year to be more patient and hunt more days in the hopes of getting a trophy deer. There are some big deer on the property I hunt, I just have to be patient.

And I respect that 100%. As well as hoping you achieve that goal. Whatever your personal goal is, it needs to stay personal. If your not doing it for you, it's just not as fun.

Again, thanks everyone. I thought there would be regret this morning and there is not. If you ever start to feel like it's not as fun anymore, go ahead and kill something! Odds are the meat will be better too. I can spend more time helping Braydon and Joy get their tags filled as well.
I like what I just read right there. I was in the same boat as you this year, I never had plans on killing the buck I did. He got my heart racing and that was that Lol.

Kind of got caught up in getting a big one myself. I have never once let a deer walk that was in shooting range for me until this year. Had a six come through a couple weeks ago that stopped broadside at twenty yards that should be in my freezer now but no I wanted a big boy. I have always said I deer hunt because I love the meat so if I'm lucky enough to get one in range I'm shooting it. Congratulations on a awesome deer!!!
