She uses CLR? Sound right? Grey bottle with big letters. She also uses baking soda.
Probably does the same thing, but I actually use the powdered Iron Out

We have a cheapy dish washer that was a closeout at Lowes. Sub $200 if I remember right. It has had a couple issues with the electronics but seems to have corrected itself? I know. Sounds made up. Surprised the heck out of me. Once you have an issue they usually just get worse. That said, it has lasted around 10-11yrs now. Hard to complain about that.
With well water, do you have a good softener? Or, have you had your water tested to see if your softener is adequate? Best thing we did was to dump our old softener and replace with a Kinetico softener. It cost us a couple grand but has been well (no pun intended) worth it. No more salty film on ice cubes. Hard water stains and iron stains significantly reduced. The wifey will even drink the water now. I've read and heard from older generations that all appliances will last longer. From washing machine and dish washer to coffee makers and even TVs. I couldn't tell you how it makes TVs last longer without speculation. I really don't know. Just what I've read.
We are taking a close look at the Bosch 800 series...anyone?
We have a Bosch and it is whisper quiet and does a hell of a job. I'd recommend one to anyone.Crazy stuff Dave. Stopped over at a buddy's house tonight. They recently finished remodeling their kitchen. It is amazing but I'll spare the details and cut to the chase. He had a brand new Bosch dish washer there. Asked him if it was an 800 but he didn't know. He said it is amazingly quiet. Claims of the salesman are if the pump begins to leak, by design it will not leak on the floor. He also said it does a fantastic job of cleaning the dishes. Just wish I knew if it was an 800 series or not.
