While on the ground what cover up scent do you use? Smoke?? Just curious.

I wash my camo in generic scent killer from the Meijer hunting isle and use ScentAway Max dryer sheets. I also sprayed down with scent away before I went out and stored my hunting clothes in a tub with open baking soda boxes. Honestly I was pretty sloppy about it, though.. I only washed them every so often and a lot of times didn't spray down.

I bought a bee smoker last year but never ended up using the thing. I was usually heading out the door already late and didn't have time to fire it up and smoke up. Might try it this year.

What about you?

Yup, that was me last year. My feet get pretty bad at times... I carry a cane in the truck with me, have one by my bed side, and another downstairs. My back is pretty trashed also...so....I probably have no business even owner a climber, but i like it.

Hunting the ground I like to smoke up. I also usually have an earth scented biscuit hanging on my hat. Beyond that, I think a face shield is very important when ground hunting.

Sorry to hear that buddy. Sucks being in pain let alone all the time.

Yeah, I wear a face mask plus carbomask around my eyes and my forehead.

I'm gonna have to learn how to use the smoker. I think I remember reading on here somewhere if you don't do it right you can end up turning it into a blow torch on your camos. Gonna need to play around with it.

No need to work the bellow much once you get smoke rolling, that's how you torch shit. Burned the hair on the back of my head a couple years ago lol

Joe, we don't live very far from each other and I actually drive very near your place to and from work if I take that route. I have a LW Alpha or a Muddy hang ons I can stop by and let you try sometime. Personally I'd get a Millinium cuz every guy I know that has one LOVES them cuz they ARE comfy and they hunt longer!

I hunt just fine out of my hangons from dark to dark.

Do you see it working different early season versus late?

I've got a pet theory that late season might be better since there are more fireplaces going in the cold weather and therefore the deer would be used to the smell of smoke.

Then again my pet theories are young, untested and not well fed lol

Sounds good Ric. Yeah man I've been thinking about getting together and was watching for Dave's casa thread to pop up again. Was gonna say I'd try to make it but the bastard went and cancelled on us lol

I'm probably not here on the days you drive through but I could meet you sometime this weekend possibly. How far are you from 48 and Butterworth?

I did get blown at last year on opening day right before I shot my buck. Bitch doe came out downwind of me a blew, right before last light. I thought it was over, 10 minutes later he came strolling out. I blame it on my climber smelling moldy, fugger got wet a few days prior when I left it outside and I never smoked it up.

I pass thru that T junction about 7:30 the mornings I go that way and its 12-15 min from my house tops. Loveland school buses will start to be a problem next week so I'll prolly circumvent them then and go via 22/3 thru Landen then! Lovelands infastructure isn't not equipped for the population of that area! Lol

Like the guys have said above, I smoke up right before I go out, clothes, gear...ect. I usually leave my clothes outside hanging under the porch roof ( Note: Wife does not like it, lol ) unless I sweat or get soaked then wash and rehang and smoke again.
