I skipped fishing for a little over a month, mid-June through most of July due to weather and other goings-on. I've been a couple of times in the last couple of weeks. Caught perch and saugeye each time out, but it hasn't been fast and furious, just enough to keep me on the lake a little longer when I was ready to quit.
Anyone else fishing? I won't be able to get out much after next week again due to fall baseball starting up.

Been catching some nice smallies and rock bass in the upper olentangy. Been fishing about half and half with the fly rod and the spinning rod.
Kinda funny story from the trip out when I caught the smallmouth in that pic.
A few days ago I took two of my friends fishing with me, neither of whom are too great at fishing. I was catching four or five to their every one fish and one of them getting a little pissy about that.
Anyways, that day I had found four different small rocks with holes passing all the way through so as we headed back downstream to the car I was scanning the ground for more. I saw the smoothest, most consistently colored piece of white Quartz I've ever seen. As I'm reaching towards it one of my friends yells, "HOLY SHIT! A DILDO!!!" I was just about to grab it by the balls...
Made for quite a hero shot with it glistening gloriously in the shaft of sunlight coming through the trees. My stepmom's first response to seeing the size of it in the picture was, "Must've been a white girl"

Mason, my buddy Clint, his son Isaac and I waded Paint Creek today. We caught a ton of smallmouth, pretty nice ones, some rock bass, and Isaac caught a 5lb channel cat on a crawdad that he and Mason had just snatched. It's a great section of creek, only fish it about one time a year and today was the day. Might have to do it again this year since we had so much fun! No pics to post, but I did get two smallies that were 18"!
I have some pics I need to upload. Last few days I have been getting into the Jumbo Perch at Findlay. Picked up 18 on wednesday and 18 thursday. Took the FIL out today and only got 6. They have been running about 10" on average. I like when the perch are big enough that I dont have to scale them before filleting them out

I got 10 tonight in about 3 hours, but the size was smaller. About half were 10" and the others were 7-8". Not as many bites as the days go on. Everytime we get 4-5 days of 90 degree weather it really fires the perch up at Findlay.

My buddy Clint, his son, me and Mason went back to the creek today. We didn't get the big fatties as we did last week, but still had a good time.
