Huck,
That's the downfall of living in the city and having to rely on public land to get your hunting fix. I used to be in the same boat hunting public land. You had to hunt on off days to avoid crowds. On popular days I'd have to arrive at 4am to get a parking spot and sleep in my car for an hour or two before going hunting. Relying exclusively on public land sucks; but that is what is delt to some hunters.

I almost got shot once (early 90's) muzzleloader hunting on Mosquito Lake public hunting. My buddy and I met up for lunch and were standing 15 feet apart on an open pipeline field, then BOOM, the tree between us split, from someone shooting across the woods. I can still hear the sizzle of that bullet 20 years later. We left and I have never been back there since.

In 1999 I bought my own slice of Heaven on Earth.
