1. Remember hunting is just for fun.
2. Spend as much time as you can, but not more than you should, in the woods.
3. Deer are mostly nocturnal. Seein one in the daylight is the exception, enjoy it.
4. Other hunters are trying to have fun too. They didn't want to walk under your stand anymore than you wanted them to. Respect others.
5. Kill cleanly.

1. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice.
2. You can't kill em if you don't shoot at em.
3. It's not where you hit em, it's how long you give them.
4. I you say to yourself "They'll never come from that way or through there" face your stand that way because they will.
5. The only time a deer will run uphill after being hit good is when your truck is at the bottom of said hill. Then they have to run up to run down the other side.
6. Cameras add 20 inches.
7. Beer farts don't scare deer.

1. Safety first. wear your harness, practice good gun handling, make sure someone knows where you will be and when you expect to be back.
2. Scent control.
3. Silence. Be quiet, they can hear you. Moving around a lot is a bad idea too.
4. Scouting. preseason, trailcams, maps, ariel photos...
5. Sacrifice. Your time, money, freetime with family, sleep (getting up early on your day off is hard)

The first three started with S's so i ran with it and made all 5 of them "the five S's"
