Hung my new Hawk treestand here today. The white oak they scrape under is loaded. So is the crabapple on the edge of the plot. This should be a fun sit.

I got my last set of sticks and a millennium bracket up today. This property was logged last spring, and I'm liking what I'm seeing. The stand is hung about 75 yards from a major creek and within 100 yards of a known doe bedding area.

I was out at the property today checking some cams & laying out some more mineral near where I recently placed my new ladder stand just inside the woods along the gas line. Decided to climb up & snap a few pics ....

Sparse is a strong word ... lol. That's a good point though Dick. For me,with this property with it being logged, it is what it is. There are deer coming thru everywhere just the same. This property is in the midst of a square mile of solid woods, so there is thick shit nearby. To get to the agriculture goodies, they come thru here. Bucks will be looking for does every which way. No one has hunted here ( unless they snuck in, & they have) since the early 80's so needless to say, I am pumped !

One thing I always forget is that most of you guys hunt from tree stands. I on the other hand do not. The box blinds I hunt from are all sit on the ground. And we all know that hunting trails leading from bedding to food is a good strategy.

Hard to tell in the pics I posted but that stuff is 3-5 feet tall on the ground.
