My wife knows I love me some mint ice cream, I also love me some moose tracks. I'll be damned if Kroger didn't go for my heart...this is some damn good ice cream!

We aren't there yet. We have a starting point though. Garrett has asked several times to start on a compound. Who am I to crush his spirits? I bought a Diamond Razor's Edge a couple years ago hoping my wife or the kids would want to try archery. The time has come. I have the draw weight down. I have the draw length close. Just need to get him comfy, anchoring consistently, and the sight dialed in.

Good stuff Phil! How's he like it?

He was getting frustrated so we put it down. Draw weight is right at his limit. I think he will draw it nicely in a short time so I am not changing it. Peep sight is WAAAAY off for him. It is making it difficult for him to find a consistent anchor. He loves the idea he is shooting a compound though!

He'll get the hang of it once it's set up for him. That's awesome that he's taking a liking to it!

He will get the hang of it, it still taking my boy some time, he says he don't feel comfortable shooting at a deer with it yet, so we just revert back to the crossbow. Which I think is awesome if he's not comfortable, for making that decision.

Right on. That is great he recognizes this. My son (Garrett) keeps asking "how many pounds is this?" He knows he needs to be at 40lbs. I have no clue where it is but it isn't 40. Guaranteed.

Is there a kisser button on it Phil? I'd put it on a scale just to see how close he is to the 40lb mark so you could see the progress he's making....

Two excellent points Jay. There is not a kisser button. It really does need one. It would be good for both of us if we knew what the weight was.

I always liked the idea of having the person sit down and draw the bow without having to raise it up any as a starting point.... If they can draw it 5 times without raising it then step it up from there....

Today, 32 years ago my wife (Andrea) and I were married.... In a world of instant gratification and throw away everything's, somethings persevere.... I'm glad she's still around after putting up with me for all these years lol.....
