Custom turkey strikers

This is what I'm doing. Writing on them with an India ink pen. I do have a wood burning tool. I'm not artistic enough to burn pictures with it, nor do I want to take the time to do it lol. Maybe one of these days I can send a few calls to your buddy and he can burn some stuff on for me, it would be like a limited run series of 5 pots. Just throwing ideas out there.

TOO only, cause we special...

That padauk is slick. No finish or anything? That's the wood in it's cured form? It 'pops'.

Can you hear the difference in sounds with each type of wood?
Beeswax, orange oil, and carnuba wax on that, buffed in. Yeah each wood has its own sound.

I had the distinct pleasure of running my new Sasquatch call last night with a couple of Tusky River strikers. The combo of the slate over glass with the flared tip of the 2-piece rosewood striker will make anybody sound like a seasoned pro. Chad also gave me a "throw away" that's just slate in walnut and it sounds like a real damn turkey. It's crazy how good his calls sound. I have 4 strikers from him now to go with the 2 pots and I can't imagine me ever needing another call. After a 30 minutes session of trying various combos, I'm ready for April!

Thanks Rich, let me know if you see something you like! If J saved a feather I could do that!

I was using a two piece dymondwood, a snakewood should sound about the same on it or better. I knew you'd like that call😎. I turned 3 of them this evening along with a Padauk.
