The grain in the bocote is really nice. Are there types of wood that are somewhat unturnable? I run by all kinds of junk furniture and whatnot around here that have pieces of wood that are big enough to turn strikers from.

It's pretty much only unturnable if it's rotten, and really soft.

That's a hell of an idea though. Old furniture has some nice wood!

I'll see what I can scrounge up. I use wood thrown on the curb up here to make all kinds projects from. Why buy when its free. Probably won't find any bocote, but anything could turn up.
