True but I'm not one of them so I'm looking at it from my perspective. My yard is fenced and I've put a lot of time into training my dog so if she were to get out it would be an accident

If you're not one of them then don't take my post personal.

Honest question. How is that someone else's problem?

Their problem is a dog messing up their time and investment. Your problem is a hunter messing up your time and investment.

Sounds to me each party needs to protect their own time and investment.

I don't think anyone is saying they would be caleous enough to shoot their neighbors dog on sight. But the ability to do so if need be later is not beyond them either.

In my head I just counted 11 dogs in my little block. Each home owner owns 7-14 acres each. None of us kennel or chain or pets. If one was to get shot, I can promise you that hunting permission would end. About 500 acres would be shut down of hunting because one person shot a dog. Keep that in your mind as well.

What about a human? Hell, humans even know property lines and such. The way some of this reads, some of you will jump outa the damn tree to pistol whip a kid in he ruins a hunt.

I guess my point is, life is TOO damn short to put so much on deer hunting.

Wait a minute... didn't you start a thread about "what did you do for the deer today"?

I agree with both of your points. I just disagree, and not necessarily with you, on where the line is for shooting someone's pet. I have a buddy that is a very avid Hunter and he would shoot cats on his property all the time. Now if the cat was a problem, or fighting with your cat or killing livestock I get it. He just did it for fun and I feel like that wasn't right.

How did this post go from possible shooting problem even dangerous free running dogs to shooting lovable next door pets?
Besides free running cats kill more small game and song birds than hunters do.

Nope I don't care who's property she is on her life is above a deer to me. However if she was on someone else's property I would be running behind her yelling at her.
