Exactly, each scenario/lifestyle/person is different. No way to use such a wide paint brush as has been used here in a few responses about size of truck and fuel type is exactly what I am saying.

Lol. I'm guilty of pushing the Yota thing when the talk of resale value was brought into it. The guy needing a diesel nowadays can't afford one because of all the people driving them that don't need them. No offense towards Joe, but it's those kind of people driving the market behind these God awful prices.

When it comes down to today's American diesel trucks, they are all about the same. 5 years ago, not so much. They all had problems and I suspect that in 5 years from now, the same will hold true.

So towing a camper a few times a year justifies it for ya? Lol. Come on man. If you need it at all tben you need it. That's not what's driving the value of trucks, low fuel prices combined with roomier interiors and the ability to put more miles on them. If Toyota was allowed to import a truck with a small diesel ford, GM and Dodge wouldn't be able to keep their doors open. Hell if they stuck a small diesel in a car that wasn't a Volvo or hippy Waggoner gas sales would suffer tremendously.

I want to get rid of mine because I can't justify having it. I don't like maintaining the thing. Can't even look at the truck without it costing a few hundred dollars!

I didn't mind having it when I wasn't working and it sat in the driveway when not being worked. Now that I DD it, it's not worth the cost to me. I'd rather have the comfort of a half ton and struggle a bit towing. Maybe even have a conversation while the truck is running... Not have to search for a fill up station that sells diesel. Be able to go through a drive through and not have to shut my truck off. Be able to keep an exhaust tip clean.

Now that's it's slow and basically stock, I'm bored with it. 2006' doesn't run anything like a 2016' diesel truck! Hell any of the new gas motor trucks could run me down...empty.

I feel you. I threw my caddy up on Craigslist earlier today to judge interest. Priced it a little high for the condition. The hood, front bumper and spoiler needs paint and the rear bumper cover needs replaced. Mechanically it's sound, today anyway, that could all change tomorrow and frankly I'm tired of turning wrenches on it. Listed it at $7,250 firm and my phone blew up. One guy said he could be there in an hour and would bring cash. Second guy said he wants it and would pay cash. I told him another guy texted first and was looking at it tomorrow and I would let him know. He texted back and said I'll give you 750 over asking price. I said i'll see you tomorrow at the credit union bud.

Bought it with 66k miles for 19k. Drove it for 4 years and put 90k miles on it, selling it for 8k. Without the paint issue it would go for 12k but apparently GM has problems getting paint to stick to aluminum hoods and plastic spoilers for more than 10 years. I'm just tired of screwing with it. I was looking earlier and the motor and transmission on a pallet with 140k miles sells on ebay for 5,500. Guys pull the LS2 rebuild it and put it in their classic cars so they don't have to mess with carburators and they gain power steering and AC.

Good deal! One step closer to owning a Toyota[emoji23]
Lol. I still have no clue what I'm getting. My wife is in the keys next week with her sister so I'll drive her vehicle, I still have my Chevy Colorado. With 215k miles and a slipping transmission I don't want to take it far though.

Thank you baby Jesus, close this chapter of the book and move onto the next! Good luck on the sale and the quality/longevity of the next.

P.S. I am sure doing 50mph down a stone road in Woodbury didn't create any rock chipslmao
Rock chips are one thing. Paint oxidisation because the hood is aluminum and gets hot is another story.

Oddly enough birds have caused more damage to the front paint than rocks have. I have no idea what it is about this car but I hit two to three birds a week through the spring summer and fall. And it's not like they're sitting on the road and then fly up too late, they literally fly in front of me. My wife nickname it Black avian death. There is something about this car that just makes it a bird murdering machine. All the other vehicles I have owned over my life I can count probably on one hand how many birds I hit. In this car just recently I hit three last week and one the day before yesterday. 20170617_191122.jpg

Sold!!

Strangest sale. Guy my age. Told me he was in realestate, he wasnt ghetto. Had a little 23 year old blond girlfriend with a big Rock and fake tits but they're not married. Drove up on a big lifted top of the line Tundra. Told me he owned three CTS-Vs. His GF was the one that gave ID to the notary so she's the only one on the title. I asked for a pic of his ID and he handed me hers. Fucking weird. Dude handed me 7k in bills no bigger than 20s. I don't give a fuck though. Cash scanned in good at the bank so I signed the title.
