I'm addicted, I'll admit it.
If I had a boat I'd go a couple times a week. I go out with a local guide. Jack, the owner of Night Ventures, is pretty darn affordable and has become a good friend. His trips are $150 a night and I usually go once a month during the late spring, summer, and early fall. When you figure the cost of maintaining a boat like his vs the amount of time I go out it's worth it.
That said, my life is starting to settle and I'm probably gonna get my own boat in 2018. I'm also considering starting my own guide business. I'll probably do it part time until I retire from my Fed Gov job in eight years. The beauty is that I'll be pulling two pensions and VA disability so depending on it for a living isn't a concern.
I'm definitely looking forward to this Spring.
