Sounds like a blast! I still lived in Idaho the last time I went pheasant hunting. Just ain't the same anymore... have fun and enjoy the rush of that flushing bird!

Here is one from my back yard. He has been hanging around the last three or four days. I think he wants to get in the pen with my birds. Imagine he was one I let go earlier this summer.

I did not. Mason did go shoot a couple at a preserve youth hunt, however.

I've got three little patches I'm dying to get into soon.

I made it out Saturday evening for a couple hours... My brother and I and my dog, Betty. She got birdy a couple times but never did put any roosters up. I think she was on a runner at one point... Usually she gets 'em pinned down and pointed or flushed, but not that day. Not sure what happened. It was a nice evening for a walk nonetheless.

Do any of you guys go out in December to the public spots where they do the releases? I don't like going the day after the release anymore but wasn't sure if it was worth it weeks after they release them.

If I was going to the release on thanksgiving at the grand river hunting area where is the best place to park? Where are the birds released? Thanks this is my first post.

Took advantage of the pheasant release at Mingo Sportsman today. Took our retriever out for his first hunt. I was primarily trying to train him to hunt sheds, but figured I'd let him tag along and see how he does. He ended up flushing three birds. I was shocked.

We missed a couple but got three. Kody got two.

That's very cool Cotty!

We hunted wild birds for a bit this morning. The pheasants ran like Forrest Gump. If we could shoot we would have killed a pile of quail. We didn't do much damage. I blame Mason.

I just got home from S. Dakota Wednesday. What a blast. If anyone would let me tag along on a shoot I'd much appreciate it, I'm hooked. (Medina Co.)
