Yes, my hat goes off to Mason. At his age this is impressive. I believe having a great mentor has a bit to do with it. He will kill when he is ready. He deserves that deer!

It's funny you said that! Just yesterday he said " no one deserves to kill that deer. I hope one day he just lays down someplace peaceful and goes to sleep". Haha. That is admitting defeat, and I'm right there with him. The old boy whipped us.

Both of those old warriors(Beans and Tines)have earned the right to die of old age. If anyone deserves to take that right away from either of them it's you two! If it weren't for all the BS and other pressure from hunters and dogs you've had to deal with along the way the past few years you guys prolly would have already put one of em on the ground already!

Good luck out there today!

On my end, I've had corn out behind my house... No bucks showing up and I dont want to shoot a doe there.

Switched corn locations to two spots at the club. No bucks have been showing. Doe are not allowed to be shot there. Club rule for the last two years.

I went on a doe hunt last night at the property that has a ton of Doe. I don't have corn out there. I can't run three properties. Don't have the time or money. Got interrupted by some guy walking around.

Basically, I'm hunting like early season since the corn piles aren't paying off with bucks.

I'm still busting my ass, just not real hopeful for a solid buck at this point.

Well said. Those are smart deer. They probably do deserve to die of old age. If anyone shoots them, I hope it is Brock or Mason. They have put in so much effort. It'd only be fitting for one of their tags to adorn the deer.

These damn deer... The new spot I started hunting is real hard to hunt because it's so close to the road. Short of setting up a tree stand 10-20 yards from the road, I have to hunt it from the ground. Problem is, by the time I see them, they are inside of 50 yards and nothing between us! I'm worried about putting a blind up and someone stealing it. It may be time I invest in a ghost blind...I always wanted one. That would give me a chance at being able to move into better position because they always pop up from somewhere else. Never the same trail...

Isn't the ghost blind the little pop up mirror one? That's the one in talking about. There's a blow down I could sit in too, but they'd be inside of 20 yards before I seen them.

Ya the ghost blind is like a mirror. Someone on here has one, can't remember who though.

They cross in the middle of the curve on the right side of that creek. That creek is about a 30' cliff on the top side of the road (that the side I have permission to hunt). They come across that field (which is an overgrown field now/crp). I'm not sure how to attach a topo for the terrain, but it's a little bowl in that corner. So as they come across that field, they are in your face. The trees are cedar and honey locus. I can't clean limbs off a cedar either, not aloud.

The road is not very traveled. Only 3 houses on this road and it turns to gravel about a half mile up. I usually see 2-3 trucks travel it in an afternoon.

Could be Kevin (Outdoorsfeller) that has one. I remember a pic being posted of the ghost blind set up and I couldn't see the damn thing!

I have one too. I like it. Be better with crossbow than longbow. I have the taller version.
