I'm out here right now, about 1.7 miles from Catawba. 26 feet of water. No bites and only a few marks. Dang wind is ridiculous. Probably should move but I'm way too invested with this hub shanty now. Gonna grind it out to the end and see what happens. Lots of people out here. Catawba was packed even at 1:45 when we got there this afternoon. Sitting on 9" of ice right now. Most of it looked even thicker on the ride out.

Making me want to skip ML season!

Ha! I wouldn't get too carried away! It does feel good to be out here knocking the rust off though. I'll be deer hunting tomorrow and Sunday, then likely back on the ice Monday and Tuesday. The weather looks a little sketchy late next week so I plan to get my licks in while I can.

Yup, the weather next week make me want to drive north while I can! I can hunt deer for another month still.

I'm heading out tomorrow . Put a new set of picks on my snowmobile track earlier today , and a set of ice scrapers on the inside of the front skis for glare ice since my sled is a liquid cooled sled

Definitely gonna need those scrapers. The ice is super clean out there. Passed a guy on the way back in tonight who's sled was overheating.

Walbridge oh
Did pretty good. Ice is almost a foot thick so I think the little warm up next week shouldn't mess it up to bad. Glock 42 for size reference lol!IMG_20180106_143213365.jpg

Nice job guys. I fished out of Catawba today and got 3 walleye and 18-20 perch . Wife texted me that she was sick with that bad flu going around so I cut my trip short and headed home . Fish are frozen in a bucket now . So not exactly sure how many perch . Lol

Great day on the ice Saturday, decided to stay in today with the strong southerly winds. West shore blew out again today, open water west of Perry.

Thanks for the report and glad to see you had some luck with the fish! I'm hoping to get back out Tuesday off possible.

Another fun day on the hard water of Erie yesterday, even though the fish didn't want to cooperate. I got a couple first timers out there and they had a blast. We got into a few flurries of yellow perch but we just couldn't pin down the walleye despite moving several times.
