New guy

Been visiting the site for a few months and figure I was jump in. Little about me. 33 years old, been hunting since I was 13, but just became an avid bow hunter in the last 5 years when my job got me back close to where I access to good private land in Tuscarawas county. First few years bow hunting I was happy taking any buck I could, and I was successful at doing that, but this year I have made the decision to only take a mature buck. I don't know what's going to be tougher, killing a mature buck, or being OK with passing chip shot opertunities!! Hopefully spending time on this site will help give me the extra insight I need to put that big buck I'm after down!! Btw I really like the format of this site!!

If you shoot little bucks, you'll be limited on seeing big mature bucks lol.... Best advice I've got lol

Welcome too the site and there's plenty of big buck guys on here that'll head you in the right direction.....

Welcome. Only get the big one by letting all the little ones go.

If you see a deer and get the opportunity to say...."Oh Shit!", that's the One!

Agree. I've had that encounter earlier this Nov. I'm not one for naming deer, to each his own, but after seeing him at 70 yards that has changed. His name... - leg shaker - cause that's all mine did!

This is my 3rd year chasing mature deer. The reward is worth the wait. I haven't killed any giants by some standards, but no one else's standards mean more to me than mine. Be patient, always hunt the wind, move slow, if you're not having fun...don't do it. Mature deer take work, but it doesn't have to be miserable. Enjoy! Plenty of folks on here with plenty of knowledge that don't mind sharing. I've learned a lot on here myself. Best to have some thick skin though, lots of that knowledge comes in many forms...lol
