Haven't shot a tree yet but I shot a support pole in a ground blind once. The buck came unglued and the arrow ended up sticking straight up out of the ground 10 feet from where he was standing.

I had a nice buck coming to me a couple of years ago as I was sitting in a blow down. He was going to come in a little to my left so I needed to reposition...this is where things got a little hairy. Safety off on the crossbow, I know, mistake 1. I shift my weight a little and the beach I'm sitting on snaps! Crossbow fires as I'm falling to the ground... I was looking through the scope at the deer as this all happens.

I look up to see this buck kick like a mule! Thinking to myself "no fucking way did that just happen". Had a little blood on the bolt and some meat. 3 days I looked for him... If this was a good story, I'd attach a pic of a perfect mainframe 10. Instead, I feel like puking because I haven't thought about it in a couple of years.

Dang Corey! Like you already know, atleast you have peace of mind in not wounding and losing him. Did you misjudge yardage or hit that branch that was covering his vitals?

Hit that dead log before the arrow ever got to him. I was shooting through a small hole but never saw that......must have blended in with his coat. I drew while he was still bedded, then he realized something was up and stood and took a few steps. It all happened so fast......let's not talk about it anymore. :smiley_crocodile:

Slow morning today. 2 basket racks. Going out tonight, still a chance to shoot a birthday buck!

OMG, been there, done that. Shifted my position, and accidentally fired the bow. Missed my foot thankfully, and just a hole in the blind. Safety is ALWAYS on now until I am on target.

Happy Birthday, Corey.

This is him.....he strolled up out of the river bottom past my camera later that day. I knew I should have hunted that stand!
