Ok, so 1 month ago I got on the scale and weighed in at 199. Those that know me know I'm not a big guy. I was NOT gonna crack 200 again! (Unless it's mostly muscle, which it's not) So I got online and researched diets and found one I liked. 2 weeks ago I started it, and since I was already paying a gym membership that I wasn't using I started using it again.

So here I am 2 full weeks into this and I have dropped 13lbs and 1 1/2" off the waist. I still have about 10-15lbs or 2in off my waist to go and I am bound and determined to get it gone my the end of the month. Once I reach that goal I will change the diet to reflect muscle gains. Basically right now I am calorie cycling. 4 day cycles starting at 760 per day dropping to 460 on day 4. I feel great and have a ton more energy already.. I will keep you up to date as it goes.

Not trying to be a dick but that's just a starvation diet. You will be losing muscle mass along with fat. Not a very healthy way to lose weight. A better way would be to slowly cut your calories from what you were eating and gradually lose weight.

When you start eating a normal diet again the weight will come right back because your body will think you have a surplus and store it as fat.

Thanks for your opinion, however I did something very similar to this and kept the fat off for 6 years and when I was done burning the fat I switched it up a bit and built muscle. I have talked to a PT about my plans and he agreed with my plans. As I previously stated I am NOT starving. I feel full after I eat my 3 meals a day, and also have a lot more energy. Have a great day!

Good luck with it Woody! I'm kinda stuck around 195 at the moment. I've been trying to get closer to a mostly vegetarian diet as my Dr. wants but man when I do that I feel like I'm starving! Trying some new recipes lately to see if that helps but at this point I don't feel like I can cut out chicken and turkey yet to get me through the week. Made some zucchini parmesan the other day that was pretty good LOL. On the good side, I feel better and haven't had a headache since my binge eating in Florida the beginning of April. Any aches and pains I was getting in my hands has gone away too.

Little update...I've been pretty bad the last few weeks. This weekend was real bad...fully dressed with boots and all I was 194.4 this morning. I'm not upset, just trying to bring myself back a little bit.

There is a ton of research that supports this and overall, this is great advice. I always tell folks to do what works best for them, but differentiating between short term and long term success is crucial to not only sustaining results, but to your overall health.

So far i've been going to the gym for a month and haven't had any dip or cigg in a month as well. Im in a much better shape than i have been since i stopped working out around when deer season started. So im not gonna let that happen again.

I still got a long way to go. Just gotta stay motivated.

That's great, Chad! Just the part about giving up dip and ciggs is impressive on it's own. Way to go man.
