Does anyone know if Barnett fixed the Barnett raptor issue with the strings and cables breaking. I have been looking at smaller crossbows and was considering this one till I read the reviews.

I have the Recruit and had one of the nocks spin on the bolt. It would make the bow jump the arrow and think it was being dry fired, then the string would POP. This crossbow is almost 3 years old now with thousands of bolts flung from it. I had a custom string put on it after I snapped a couple (took me a couple times to figure out WTF was going on) and it still works like a champ.

I guess I did throw the red dot in the trash and put a real style scope on it. Not sure of the model, I could go in the basement and look…but I really feel like just sitting here in the garage drinking beer, lol. I can go look if you'd like. If/when something happens to this one, I'll be buying another one of these for sure. Not sure if any of this answers what your asking, just my experience with this Barnett.

Lol I have a Barnett predator and it's great I just seen lots of people having issues with the raptor. I wanted to get one because of the size and weight convience and didn't know if Barnett has fixed the issues with them

Buy the Tenpoint. Parker crossbows are real good but they recently changed their warranty. I have a Tenpoint Pro Slider I will sell descent if interested.

My wife has the recruit and I have the raptor, we have probably put 100 bolts through each without issue, I really like them both
