What's up fellas!!! My buddies and I were talking about this years season and we haven't seen Charlie Alsheimer's rut prediction yet. We always like to discuss and compare what other rut predictors are saying.. Its always good for a good talk about the upcoming season.

Post it if you have it.. Thanks everyone.

"The RUT" is something from the past…. Now a days it's about that 1 day your in the woods and they are chasing hard. I'm going with 11-11 to be the magic day.

Shot my buck on 11-21 last year while he was chasing a doe. I agree with Taylors time frame, it starts getting good towards the end of October and you just gotta hunt every chance you get from then til the end of November.

I do not care what anyone says about a magic week or a magic day... There is no truth to any of it. The deer are going to breed sometime between October 21-November 31'st. You just need to be there as much as you can during this time. Find your pinch point or the edge of the bedding area and hunt. A lot of people miss out on some great hunting in the middle of December also.

I disagree with this. If you are only seeing good rut activity one day during this time you should be up and moving and figuring out where they are chasing. The rut will be happening. Just may not be where you are. Kind of like saying the turkeys didn't gobble this morning but in reality there were no turkeys on the property to be heard gobbling.

I totally agree T! Those on limited time just need to choose their vacations wisely! I don't feel temps and weather are as important as picking the right stand/areas in which to hunt. Using your TCs can help tell you where your best bucks are spending most of their time and what time they are there but caution must be used when pulling the cards.
Sure we'd all like to sit on a cool crisp high pressure day with a slight steady breeze in a favorable set but rutting activity is going to happen regardless of the conditions and if you're in the right spot then hopefully you'll get your shot opportunity and make it count.
Last year I was in the right spot two days in a row and saw a lot of rutting activity from 10 am till 3 but the 3 weeks before that I got skunked 14 straight hunts because they just weren't on the farm I was hunting. That's why we all need more than one place to hunt.

I agree with all your post on this subject. Every property is different and they will be chasing for over a month. You have to be in the right stand on that special day is what I was trying to say. You usually get about three days of good action and one day of "OH MT FUGGIN GOD, WHAT a day" on each stand location. Learn the doe habits and follow them. When you start seeing lone doe or lone buttons, the time is close! No magic day at all to predict, I was being a smartass about that part, I just picked a day in the middle.

I agree with this. It seems like people always try to predict when the rut will be, but it's always the same. Last week of October and first week of November is the hot time. Every year.
