I read this thread a bit ago & decided to go check my Lift's since I haven't in a good while. # 1, the woods are turning green. #2, the cam's are still working like the day I bought them. It'll be two years this summer since they were deployed. One cam has lithium's, the other has ray o vacs. The rays are at 47% & it was back in November when I put 'em in. I suppose I'll put the Covert lithium's in next time I'm out. Overall, I am pleased with their performance.

Speaking of Coverts. my Code Black mms has come to an end. It's been taking pics, but not writing them to the card & today when I checked, nothing new & nothing could be pulled up. It quit sending pics a while back , so I just used it as a regular trail cam & today, Taps will be played. I've been messing with mms since they came out & it's all come to an end... sniff sniff. By the way, is anyone else having issues with Photobucket ? Mine has been a pain in the ass for several months & can only post pics from my phone app it seems.

Photobucket has been painful the last few months for me as well. Initially thought they may have had some temporary IT issues or server issues. Those don't generally last 2-3 months though.

My camera works great. Had a small problem of the mounting strap rotting off. I contacted them and got a email answer the same day requesting warranty info to send me a new strap. My bad as I got busy and forgot.

Good to hear fellas. I'm pretty sure I lost a cam yesterday...I put waders on to retrieve it. Last pic...lol

That cam is 100' from the creek and about 4' high. I've seen the water flood in that area, but never that deep. I thought it was safe...I was wrong.

I have been happy with my Lift. I need to get back out and pull it. It has been out since September. Last time I checked it was mid November. As soon as I make it back out I will post a few recent pics.

Question for you, if your trail cam dies on year two and I new one is issued, does it come with a new 5 year warranty or balance of the original warranty?

I just had to send one of my Lift's back due to the latch breaking. When unlatching or latching, both latches became tight & quite loud & I couldn't figure it out. This has been going on for over a year, so I knew it was only a matter of time before they let loose. My other Lift works & operates just like day one. With sending other cams back, I was able to get a full new warranty. Time will tell with what they return to me.

I did order a Gen 2 just the same. I couldn't stop myself. I really like my Lifts, customer service is outstanding & the next gen sounds all the more promising.

Glad to hear things have gone well for you Kevin. You think the housing warped or something to cause the latch to break?? Definitely looking at the Gen 2 for this year's camera purchases. I did plan to do it last year but with all that went on with my mom and not getting to Ohio much it quickly got put on the back burner. Definitely looking forward to seeing pictures from this new model and high hopes for great clarity with the new lens.

I dunno. I forgot to mention that the latch that broke... it was just the hook part. That latch would not even stay seated all winter long when attempting to latch it. I totally forgot about that & I hope Chad or Steve reads this, since my cam actually arrived back to them today. I've racked my brain trying to figure it out all this time. Fugg it. Even when I had my Reconyx HC500, that had to be sent back for repair, so I'm not worried. I am excited about the advertised video quality, so time will tell.

In short no, the new unit would inherit the original warranty. However to your point, each camera is built to specifications to last beyond 5 years. If the camera can be repair, which in most cases it can, we repair it and then return the unit. We typically only replace a unit if it monetarily makes sense to do so.
