I decided I may as well get a TC pic thread started up for 2014.

I usually go every 2-3 weeks until the last week of August. After that I let them soak until the weekend before the season. I hate being in there during September.

Always enjoy trail cam threads. Keep them coming.

I have found that if you check cams MID-DAY in the summer it has very little effect on deer, especially if it's in fields. They are used to people roaming around. I have gone daily or every couple days and before dark have mature bucks at the cams....sometimes less than an hour later.

As soon as their antlers get hard you need to be more careful.

Great pics Don and I usually check mine midday but vary on how often as I have been super busy so am going on 7 weeks but will check them this week. Usually go a month in between checks though.

I'm gonna plan on switching my cards once a month and after work around 3:30-4:00 then. That sounds pretty much like the rule of thumb. Will you all put out any mineral in the late summer early fall?

Great pics Don! Love the fight pic. I also try to check my cams during midday as well and haven't had any negative effects. I agree that once hard horned they are a very different and are a more cautious animal.

Nice start. Minerals are good but seem like they lose their luster in late summer. Don't remember exactly when but seems like mid July to late August somewhere they don't use them as much.
