Interesting article on planting food plots in farm country.
Thoughts and comments?http://whitetailinstitute.blogspot.com/2012/10/why-food-plots-are-needed-even-in-farm.html

This sounds like my property. The 100 ac. farm behind me is 100% horse hay for baling 2-3 times per year. The other property behind me is about 80-100 ac. is narrow and 1 mile deep. It's 60-75% in crops. Then there's a small 15 ac. plot to the east of me behind several houses that is planted beans-corn every year. Also there's a farm in crops North of me but the nearest crop field is 1/2 mile away.
That's about it in the nearby properties I what I would call a normal deer range. Oh I know deer travel more than that. So that's the reason I had a good deer response to my food plot in 2013. IMHO
