This afternoon was nice and I always like to hunt before a storm
So I grabbed the crossbow and hunted a funnel leading to the cornj field
Several doe's & yearlings came past
Then I saw a med sized 8 point ( probely 2 1/2 year old ) come down the trail
I almost shot it , but let it pass
OK a few min later another buck came by , a small 7 or 8 point
As the 2 bucks stood close to the edge
They started sparing , then it got realy going with the larger buck pushing the smaller one around pretty good
They seperate and then I watched the 2 of them start in again
The 2 time it went on for 5 min or so , with the smaller buck using the hillside to gain a advanage
Also the 2 time it looked like they were out to get eachother
I have seen bucks fight before breeding season
But never this late in the year
Any idea why these 2 were going at it ?
As it seemed neither even checked out the doe's
Maybe just 2 deer looking for a fight ?
