Just pulled back in the driveway. Ended up dragging it back after hearing some stories about the neighbors...didn't trust it sitting there.

Trip wasn't a total success, lost e-fans somewhere along the line. Truck was running HOT! The slower I drove, the worse it was. Found a sweet spot around 80 mph that kept me 205-215 depending on the hill. Oh well, we made it and had a great weekend. I'll dig into that issue some time early this week.

Got some sketchy fuggers around there? Sucks about the truck though!

Yeah, I won't get into details...but I wasn't leaving it behind. I'll sleep in the barn or truck next weekend.

Truck has to be something stupid, I'll get it figured out. I'm not real worried about it, it's a Flex-a-lite kit. They have quality parts.

Way to get the season started Dave.
Levi and I made a impromptu trip back up to the hunting club property this weekend. Still not de winterized, I'll get to it soon I guess but, with just the two of us it's just as easy to grab a water jug. I ended up just leaving it up there. With the amount of birds gobbling up there, I figure I head back up for a couple overnights this week and see if I can't find one to shoot

Camper is still covered and winterized. Battery is still out and awaiting a trickle charge. Between soccer, track, and heavy spring load of work. . . . Maybe in late June. Until then, we had a family gathering 10-15 minutes down the road today. Loaded up the family in our family sedan, the 62 Nova and let it breath. This evening the wife and I took the motorcycle out for a short loop of 30 miles. Nice little country round trip for our first ride of the season. Not very long but it felt good to get out and ride. Whether camping, hiking, fishing, taking the old car out, or whatever, we try to make memories with the kids. The Nova ride will be memorable for them. Some intermittent issue going on there as well. It didn't want to start when we left my aunt and uncle's house. My parents, and aunts and uncles came out to see the Nova as we left. They wanted to hear it and watch it take off since they grew up with similar vehicles as their family sedans. When it wouldn't start, Erin just cringed. She was like "Now what?" I looked at her and said "Don't worry. We will figure it out." Then I hollered at the boys in the back seat and said "Jump out. We need a push." My sister's middle boy is around 13 as well and I told him he could help if he wanted. The three boys gave us a push, I dumped the clutch, and she came to life. Tell me the kids won't remember that and laugh about it when they have their own kids? My uncles were talking about their wagon and trip out west when they were kids while looking at the Nova. They are in their 60s/70s. They still remember it. I'm certain our kids will remember these little moments. At least some of them. Keep up the good work Dave. The kids will remember it.

That last pic is kinda special to me. That is the first stone in the cemetery (family cemetery) dated 1888. That was as close as I could get Levi to it, lol.

BTW, that middle pie was Creamsicle...just ate the last piece. I'm not a pie guy at all, never have been, but that shit...I'll kick a kid in the face for a chance to lick the spoon! Taste like those popsicles I used to eat as a kid, only with pie crust! Fml...whose been hiding this from me all these years?!

Last weekend we had a bunch of guest so the camper was in use again. Really nice to have that sitting in the driveway at times.

Every Mother's Day since I can remember we always did something at my moms. This year it's not going to happen due to her spending the last couple of weekends traveling with/to us. So it was canceled and I told the wife "it's your weekend, what would you like to do". We will do our first official campground trip this weekend to Paint Creek. She really loves that campground and weather looks great.

I gotta restring a couple of lines and maybe get ahold of Brock to see his turkey plans for mornings. White Bass should be hitting good for the kids. Soccer game in Fayetteville mid day Saturday is all the plans we have. Crazy...as the summer schedule started a few weeks back for us and hasn't slowed one bit! It'll be a nice relaxing weekend.

Who else has been getting out?

Sounds like a great weekend planned ahead Giles! Ours hasn't left the driveway, but it's been moved and it's being tweaked on for the upcoming seasons. No doubt having extra space is handy for guests and storage.

Sound like fun, Giles. Have a good one. BiL is gone for the weekend so just me, dog and beer tonight...plus turkey hunting tomorrow morning

Mine hasn't made it out from under the cover yet. With dad's brain surgeries, camping isn't on my mind. The camper was mentioned though. Erin and I discussed bringing it to the house, setting it up, and sparing a downstairs bedroom for my parents as long as they need it. We will use the camper or put the kids in it. Dad will likely struggle getting up and down stairs. They only have a half bath down stairs. We have a full bathroom downstairs so that is an option to give dad a place to stay on one floor. Truthfully, might be a month or two before we know if he is capable of climbing stairs. If I need to sleep in the camper to accommodate him, I'll do it without hesitation.
