When ethanol became popular there were a lot of issues with rubber seals. Today’s rubbers are not prone to it though. Newer compounds in today’s rubbers from what I have been told.

Most likely either gummed up carb or the diaphragm/seals dried out. When you got it cranked that got fresh gas in the carb. Took a while for everything to lube up and loosen up once the gas got in it. I used to turn the pitcock off and let the quad run until died from no more gas. Stopped doing...

Haven’t given them the full test yet as I haven’t had a chance to wrench on anything yet. I will say that the red clay rinsed right off.

Nickle’s pic above is a good example of what I am used to seeing up in Ohio. Not sure if different pine types have different root structures or not.

Pines have a very compact rootball that does not extend very far down which makes them prone to blow over. High winds and saturated soil is the perfect combo.

Was designed for woodworking according to their website. I have no clue though. I will say it’s sharp as hell and carries nice. Will see how well it holds the edge. I will put it through the paces and see how it holds up.
