I had a pocket full of “wooden nickels” to help me keep count.
Walked up on this fella get’n some a couple years ago
I used to mark them with paint, it was pretty cool to see the same turtles over the years.

Box turtles are kinda my thing. We’re up to over 60. I have 2 that I need to check our database to see if we’ve found them before. We take pics of the shell which is like a fingerprint and enter that along with gps coordinates. We found a turtle that traveled almost 300 yards up a freaking steep as hill. A hill I wouldn’t think a turtle could climb!
