You can tell it wasn’t a BFG!That front tire never blew, survivor.
Comfort, easy of parking, still fits in the garage. Lots of reason to stick to a pickup cab and chassis. It's okay if they cannot afford it. People will still attempt to buy them. Majority of the people do not "need" this much truck anyway. Why not jump to the 4500/5500 series if you feel the need to have 1000hp? I don't get it.
I suppose. Then again, if I truly need a truck with 1000ftlb of torque it is probably not on a one ton chassis. If I can afford a $70-100k truck for personal use I can afford a building for it. Phil, that is exactly what I was saying earlier about foreign countries.
We have a niche lifestyle and opportunities here compared to them. We tow or haul for fun which requires the 3/4 - 1ton. I need minimum of a 3/4 ton from a payload standpoint, and the diesel helps in the mpg, reliability and resale value I need with my daily commute.
I don't need a diesel, a gasser would work but I like a 5yr./100K warranty over 3/36K. Sure a gasser would get me there and be able to stop us, but the whole driving experience is that much better with a diesel. In the end it goes back my personal motto of have it and not need it then need it and not have it. This is engrained in everything I do, right wrong or indifferent lol.
No way man definitely not the exception. No doubt there are some douches out there but I believe most understand their situation and budget and will opt for a diesel upgrade and a 3/4-1ton works just fine. A trip to tractor pulls, race tracks (u were just at one), and rodeos will confirm this I feel.
God Bless this country and our every lasting thirst of bigger n better when it comes to engines
@brock ratcliffGoing to check out an F150 with the 3.5L Ecoboost after work. Anyone towed with one before? If yes, please let me know in what config (cab/chassis/trim), and what your thoughts are.
For those not towing with one, what kind of real life mpg are you seeing?
