Saw a 140ish 10 point chasing a doe through the cut corn field last evening at 4:30. Lots of chasing going on in the thicket beside me.

Fayette/Highland/Clinton county... did a fair amount of driving this weekend to include today, the deer seem to be getting hit now. First of any real change from the norm.

As a matter of fact, as I was typing this my wife called and told me she just hit a nice buck. Someone else hit it first traveling the other way, and then she ran it over. As I was talking to her she started yelling "the fucking thing is running away!" Lol, crazy how tuff these animals are. She didn't notice any damage on hers and no one was injured.

Wouldn't it be something to have a gun season with some good rutting still going on!!!!

Seemed dead to me in Washington County over the weekend. Who knows maybe some lockdown with does? 2 of my 3 trail cameras had basically no pics (think batteries died), so only the 1 was working. Didn't get any daylight or nightime buck pics. Hope it is better this coming weekend.

It was on tonight in Highland. Didn't see any deer until the last 45 minutes. Two nic ones slugged it out while two or three little bucks harassed two different does that must be coming into heat. I'll be there in the morning.

This seems to be the time of year to run into full breeding parties! Last couple years I've had some great hunts in the last couple days leading up too turkey day. All involved groups like Brock saw. Exciting as it gets if your there to see it.

Good luck in the morning buddy

Was burn out the weekend before this one. Decided to minimize my hunting. Actually focused on pulling a couple cards to evaluate where we were. Squirrel hunted my way to the one camera and came home with 2 squirrels. Nothing on the cams to get excited about. Now I know why. . . Yesterday I pulled three cards from a different property. Apparently they were all over there chasing one or two hot does around. Felt like Charlie Brown getting the football pulled away from me again. Frustrating love/hate relationship of trail cams. It sucks but what can you do? I laughed it off. Busy week and short week this week. Maybe I'll get out Friday. If I don't shoot a buck this year. . . . The world is going to keep spinning. That is part of the game.

Saturday night driving back to the farm in meigs county saw 12 deer in one field and a nice buck guarding a doe with a bigger buck standing by. Sunday night saw two bucks chasing. Now if only it was during the day.

Tuesday afternoon on my way home at 2:50 there were 3 bucks and a doe in dads field. Biggest looked to be a real good 135-140ish 8 who ran the other bucks off. Watched them for 20 mins and they bedded. Got ahold of one of my best buddies cuz JPN didn't answer his phone (come on man!). My buddy belly crawled and got close. Meanwhile a stud 150" 10 came in and ran the good 8 off and took over his place. My buddy had no idea as he was shielded by a couple knolls. At one point he was inside of 30 yards of the big one running a smaller buck off and couldn't see him. It all ended with my buddy misjudging yardage and shooting under him. It was so cool to watch the whole thing through my binos from dads driveway. My guess is that she was almost ready and every buck in the area was on her.

Very friggin cool of you to help your buddy Marcus! :smiley_clap:

You're either in amongst them or you're not during the rut! Some of us just not in the right place yet when we do get to hunt. Taking Karissa over to our farm tomorrow to hunt on the ground and show her around some in the morning till 10-10:30. I just hope we see something but we'll have fun hanging out together.:pickle:

This fella has been chasing does all over the neighborhood. I'm adjacent to two large farms and a wildlife sanctuary. I have one wooded acre to hunt. Hoping I get a shot. Any opinions on age/score would be appreciated.

Got into the farm and went to change card and we saw a nice 8 point walking across the corner of the field, he had his nose to the ground, looked at the headlights then went back to walking. Entered the woods and worked a scrap for a minute then kept on never giving us a second thought. Then saw a doe walking around the field.
