This hurts. I have a stand in the oak tree with the leaves going up the trunk just behind this buck. I hunted it Friday and this morning. I must have used up all my luck years ago.

That is my favorite kind of tree to hang a stand in. They just never see you. Good choice. Hunt it , he'll be back.

Very painful. We have a farm in WV that we hunt during rifle season and had a great time again this year. I checked my cams in Athens cty this afternoon. You can see my stand in the background. ARG!

That's a very nice 8! Is that the same deer in your previous post that came through while you hunted WV?

Apparently he doesn't like to piss across his tarsals much, pretty dang clean IMO.

Yea, that's the same buck that cruises by on cam about once a week. He's a 9, hard to see the G4 on left side. You are the 2nd person to point out the tarsals....I can't get past the rack. LOL

Just checking out this buck again and have to say besides the g4 which blends in so well in these last two pics his rack is nearly perfectly symmetrical! His 4x4 frame looks to have about an inch of side to side differences! That's amazing!

Question: In the first pic, is what appears to be a bump on the left g3(4"up or so) the tip of the g4 your talking about?

IMO, this buck would gross in the high 140's to 150 as an 8, and net mid 140's as a 9 but not sure how long the hidden point is! Lol. Dang pretty deer though! Hope you get him!

I agree with everything you said. I doubt I get him this year. I have very little time off work now. I will try a few times but can't dedicate myself to it now. Hoping he's alive and in the 160s next year. Here is another pic showing his G4.

Good ol' Ric doesn't miss much. He goes all CSI on trail camera pics. Dude doesn't miss a thing.

Heck of a buck man. Good luck with him! I love the heavy, dark rack!
