This is a buck i shot a couple years ago. I've been kickin around the idea of gettin him mounted this year. What would you do? He was a buck i hunted all year. Shot him opening day of muzzelloader season, he was on his last leg.. longest tine is 10". Oh yeah, started a new job last month! I won't get to take much of anytime off work this year to hunt. But next year its game on!!

Congrats on the deer and new job. That is really a personal choice bud. Good buck, so it is really up to you. To me there are a lot of factors from here on out whether I am having them mounted or not. Good character? Good story to go with it? Just a monster of a buck? Do I have a place to (tactfully) hang in my house? Is this something I want to give the "full honor" to and put in the house or would I be just as satisfied with a Euro mount in my office, shop, or elsewhere? Lot of money in a full mount. Then again it takes a lot of work (and a bit of luck) to harvest something. I want to preserve the memory, give the animal the respect it deserves, but at the same time, it is a lot of money.
