Just thought I would let everyone know that hadn't seen it already, ODNR has a survey posted on wildohio.com for the upcoming waterfowl season. They are asking when is your best time to hunt, and second best time. They also say that USFWS may up the ante on geese in late season to 3/day with a 78 day season. I believe all bird hunters should fill this out, and let them know when WE want the season to be......don't leave it up to the government!!

I like the idea of shooting more birds but I'd prefer to shoot the same numbers if the season was abit longer. ??? Is this bad?

Longer season would be nice, too... But I get so sick and tired of lugging 300 pounds of gear out to a field, only to shoot 2 stupid geese. I can do much more damage at a 3-goose limit for 74 days than I could with a 2-goose limite for 78 days.

Amen brother!!! I get SOOOOO sick of carrying a ton of decoys and gear to shoot my Limit in the first group of birds. If they raise the limit to 3, it would be a godsend!

I think they could raise the limit to 4 geese in late season and it wouldn't hurt the population. There are a ton of geese out there and they need thinned down a little.

I couldn't agree more, Derek. A 4-goose limit would be awesome... and easily sustainable, IMO.

Absolutely. I know they want to keep the numbers high and all, but soon it will be like the snow and blue goose dilemma and then the Feds will be scrambling to get the population under control. Look at New York......they are mass eradicating them from parks and airports because of the airplane safety. They won't raise the limits for hunters, but will just mass kill them out of season. It's complete bull.

I went for more days. I would like to kill 3 too but without the right dates having a 3 bird limit it useless . I would love to just hunt Dec., Jan., and some of Feb with a 3 bird limit. But I don't see that happening so I went with more days hoping for later dates.

Wasn't there a option for 80 something days and two birds? I took it last week and can't remember the 3 options

The main reason we deal with lower bag limits than many other areas is those Damn James bay geese not doin well. Someone needs to start feeding them things some viagra.

Jim, Just think of all the damage we could of done round here with a few more weeks of season. I know last yr was a odd yr weather wise. To me tho my best goose hunting is always at the end of the season.
