Leavin' Saturday for a week of fishing in Northern MI with my cousins and uncle and some buddies...MAN, am I ever ready for this! We ain't been out in a few years but these trips are always the best....got cabins on a river just south of SooStMarie....FISH CAMP BABY!:pickle:

So I got's all my tackle and poles, PFD, assorted gear, raingear, clothes for warm/cold days, two hats etc etc etc. Fry daddy (fer snackin), foodsaver and bags (bringin home fillets I hope), TP, snacks, CROWN, beer/pop/water, toiletries etc staged in the garage ready to load Fri nite.

What should I make sure I don't forget?
what have you forgotten and kicked yourself for later?

Maybe some sunscreen? A roll of ones for the strippers? You are a big guy Dan, maybe a second roll of TP? Extra cooler for the filets? if open water, I wouldn't think bug spray to be an issue, but I honestly don't know what conditions you are looking at on this water. Most of my trips in a boat are small ponds/lakes fishing the channels or edges for bass. Skeeter spray is a must in these locations. Just some thoughts and funnies for you. Good luck and enjoy yourself! You deserve it!

Anybody got any favorite Northern MI lures or setups they wanna mention?

When I was a single man we would go to Grayling with the National Guard. Once off post you could lure in the ladies with a Joe Dirt haircut, Ac/DC t-shirt, and a sno-cone. Been awhile since i was there, but I would imagine it would still work. Be thankful you have a wonderful wife at home. Those ladies were scary. lmao

Dan,
Man cannot go on a fishing trip without his Shorelunch (fish breading), tarter sauce, slaw, and an extra case of beer. You better pick some up. It will be well worth the effort.

What river are you planning to fish? You have your waders?? Panther Martin's are the best if you are going where I think you may.....went to college up at the Soo!

That's exactly what I was going to recommend. A panther martin will catch pretty much anything that's swimming up there.

I got a few lures that look like PM's, but not that brand

Looks like they got some good lookin discount closeout stuff http://www.panthermartin.com/MegaDiscounts.aspx
Free shipping and a free hat to boot for a $25 order

Dang why didn't ya'll tell me this last week?

J - got a buttload of plastic tubes/worms/etc and jigheads....that's one of the things I'm planning on concentrating on, as I need to get better at that...
Chuck, I'll be right across from Neebish Island, fishing mostly in Munuscong? Lake/bay
BM - got breading, Frisch's tartar sauce, and beer's a given...hadn't thought about slaw though....hmmmm......
Phil....seen my share of Grayling skanks in my day and steered waaaay clear. (And those were the ones in my unit)

I'm sure you'll see Panther Martins in a gas station or bait shop up there. IMO, I've never found an inline spinner that ran as well as a Panther Martin. Mepps spinners come close, but they're no PM.
