I really don't need another 1911. . . but. . . I don't have a Series 70 yet. lol

The Walther I am not familiar with at all. I do know some of them are pretty rare and I just like something different. Might never shoot it, but if it is something that not everyone has, then I want it. lol

XD9- Well, let's be realistic. there will be some dummies there that bid it higher than new price most likely. Still would like one though.

Marlin Lever action 45- I am thinking PCR here. Plus, it is different. lol

Curious to see what the Marlin 39a brings. I have been thinking of unloading mine. Gotta make some room. I have way too many 22's considering I never shoot any of them. Might as well sell it now while they seem to be bringing pretty good money. Same goes for my BL22 if anyone is interested.

Oh, and you should look into the Tech-9...

Don't sell your .22's - you've got a house full of kids!

Makes me laugh when I go to these auctions. I told my wife that if I die before her to auction mine off. Everytime I go to one EVERYTHING goes for retail. Maybe it is just my luck lately. There are a couple of the list I would like to have....for the right price.

Looking for a .22 revolver 4-8" barrel...specifically the S&W or Dan Wesson. If you run across one at a good price give me a ring!

Phil is the Oakwood Auction?

Here what catches my eye.
The Walter might be a ppk. James Bond used a ppk. Hitler also used one to add addional holes to his cranium.
The Mauser pistol above it might be worth looking at too. It could be a broom handle.
Beretta 92f and the 70 series 1911 might be interesting.

In the rifles The marlin 1890 pump and 1894 lever. Fred will be a better informed then I on those. The 2 win 92's will probably sell high. It's late we'll take more tomorrow.

Anyone have info on the S&W Young Game?

I saw that last night and it didn't ring a bell. I googled it this AM and didn't find anything.

I did find the auction pixs. I'll look closer tonight. The Mauser is a broom handle. Didn't see a ppk, must be a different model.

Yes. For the reasons listed above, I will probably not take the time off to head to the auction. Would love to see a few of these in my collection some day, but at the same time that takes me in the opposite direction of "thinning the herd".

There are obviously some others watching this thread and forum. I just received a PM from a new member interested in the BL22 I mentioned. Might or might not be for sale. As I stated, I have been thinking about unloading them.

I looked up the year at one point, but I forget what year it was now. Pretty dang old. I can get some info to you if interested.

39a- $450
BL22- $425

Maybe I should start something in the for sale section. I could probably thin half a dozen and replace with a couple that would get used more. Done nothing more than fire these 22s to ensure they worked.

The more I think about it, the less chance I am going to this auction. My list of stuff I need to get done is far greater than the list of guns I need to find a place for.

I try to go to a lot of auctions but, its been several years since I bought a gun at a good price. Bidders are usually too loose with their wallets. I also go to a lot of gun shows at which 95% of the guns are grossly overpriced because the sellers paid way too much when they got the gun at an auction.
The moral of the story is I have a very good memory of what current pricing is. and going on line, its easy to see whats retail currently.

I looked at a 22 marlin rifle last week on wed, in a small gun shop under new management. price was a $100 for a bolt action, clip fed but the stock had a poor refinishing job, blueing was poor and whoever drilled and tapped did a lousy job for a side mount scope. The gun also had a replacement bolt handle that looked like it came from a bolt action 12ga. On Saturday, the very same gun showed up at a sportsmans club gun show for $185, yowie! some old geezer was thinking he would get rich.

Fog day for the kids. Momma worked last night. I am home trying to accomplish some work (and failing miserably) instead of hitting the auction. Probably cheaper staying home anyway. Only thing I am losing right now is my sanity instead of my folding money.

Sounds like someone didn't use any snow days and needed a day off of an already short week.

Don't feel bad about missing the auction, like others have said good deals for guns at auctions are rare. Best place for deals is acquaintances that need money.

Sad but true.

Fog day? WTF is that? Must be a flat land thing!!!

Jesse- I don't know??? As flat as we are, when the fog rolls in, you can drive for miles at a time and only be able to see maybe a car length in front of you. I still haven't figured out why we have fog days. Probably some high school kids late for school driving 55mph got themselves killed and it has been the precedence ever since.
