I forgot about pulling a camera last week and leaving it laying on the side of a trail, so I headed out today to pick it up before someone else did! I checked a couple of cams in the process and it seems there is some mild hope for next season. I have four does routinely visiting the corn and two of the are mature, so hopefully they will throw a few fawns this spring. If I can work on thinning the coyotes this winter, we might get lucky and retain the majority of the fawns this spring. I had two bucks show up that will be shooters next season, one of which I know very well and the other is a newbie. I also have an injured shed buck that looks like rotten hell right now. He could be a 3.5 year old and judging by the other buck he was running with, it could be Boss Hawg. I sure hope he makes it and we can figure out the mystery in the spring...
I have no idea who this buck is, but I like the looks of him. Seems to have the makings to be a shooter this fall...
I'm glad to see Jack made it through all the firearm seasons. I have little hope of killing this deer as a 4 year old considering I have never seen him in person despite having pics of him as a 2 and 3 year old. I know have pics of him in three consecutive years. With any luck, I'll get pics of him once he grows his 4 year old rack...
I've all but written Moe off for dead. I might ask around or I might not. I don't really want to know the answer to be honest. One thing is for sure, the only surefire way to make sure I bowhunt this fall is to see him on camera or to find his sheds. Without him out there enticing me, things just aren't the same...
