Every year at Christmas we take a collection and buy a gift for our boss (good guy).
Usually a gift card to Golf Galaxy or something like that.
Secretary here always puts it in a box, within a box, in a box, etc etc - kind of a tradition.
This year we couldn't decide what to get the guy who has everything, and didn't want to repeat. So, we took the cash to the bank and got uncirculated $1 gold coins. Then I cut and glued a box of 1" thick plexiglas...we enclosed them and labeled as "Old Fashioned Gift Card".
He'll be able to spend it, but he'll have to work for it.
Didn't put much time, the box is kinda sloppy, but he'll be busting it open anyway.
